Illustration Contest

Create a LOGO for the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the SCBWI

There will be one (1) Winner. The Winner will receive one free year of membership with the SCBWI and free tuition to all 2006 SCBWI Eastern Pennsylvania events. Deadline for Entries: December 31, 2005

Contest Guidelines:

1. Entries must be submitted electronically as attachments (jpg or gif) and emailed to lkiernan@tacsolutions.com with ILLUSTRATOR CONTEST as the subject. In addition, a hard copy must be mailed to:

   Limit one entry per person. Only SCBWI members are welcome to participate.
   
2. Electronically submitted images should not exceed 500kb and should be no more than 540 pixels wide.
   
3. Email must contain contact information and a short one or two line biography, along with the artwork. The contact information must include at least one of the following: home address, phone, or email address (preferably all of them). If you like, include your website URL so we can include it with your biography if you are selected as a winner or runner-up.
   
4. The artwork must be original artwork created for this contest (i.e., it must be from an unpublished, non-contracted children's book, or a freelance illustration). Any media can be used for the image -- digital, paint, pencil, cross-stitch, paper, pastels, and so on. But it must be submitted as a hard copy and electronically (see guidelines #1 and #2 above). Hard copies will be returned only when a SASE is included.
   
5. The SCBWI retains the right to post the piece of artwork on the Eastern Pennsylvania website. We will also retain the right to reproduce the artwork on t-shirts, hats, letterhead, etc. In other words, the winning illustrator will be creating a new look for the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the SCBWI. The winner’s illustration and name and/or initials (whichever you prefer to include on the illustration) will be seen by many people.
   
6. The SCBWI will make every attempt to maintain the integrity of the artwork and its electronic file, however, the artist agrees to hold the SCBWI and its staff and affiliates harmless from any legal action that may result from the appearance of this artwork on our website. This will include, but is not limited to, persons downloading the artwork .JPG file off the SCBWI website for other purposes.Please direct questions to Laurie Krauss Kiernan at lkiernan@tacsolutions.com
