“While I have been active as an illustrator and art director for many years in the advertising and publishing industry, I recently became interested in children’s literature. One of my first endeavors was to attend the SCBWI winter conference in 2006. At the Illustrator’s Day program, Lin Oliver asked all of the attendees to spend the day ‘looking through rose-colored glasses.’ While I realized the need for practicality, I saw this as a method of approaching my work for children. In addition to my current business, I have spent the last few years creating my own stories and illustrations for the children’s market. I am enjoying these projects immensely, and I hope to have the opportunity to share my work with publication.”

“I've always loved children's books with their intriguing stories and wonderful pictures. Imagine my delight when our 5th grade teacher gave us the assignment of writing and illustrating one. Mine was about a celery stalk that married a string bean and had lots of little celery strings! Can you imagine a more humble beginning? Since then I have written and illustrated 4 published books for children -with topics as diverse as craft projects and Ukrainian Easter Eggs - none, however, have been about string beans. I’ve also illustrated 4 books for other authors. The newest title, THE TWELVE DAYS OF CHRISTMAS, A Secret Song of Faith, was just released by Regina Press, NY. It was done in cut-paper collage, a media I've grown to love.”
